Remote WordPress Developer with Design Skills - Freelance

Our client, a meeting and event production agency, is seeking a WordPress Developer with strong design skills to support their team for ~a week of work, with the potential to extend.

**Please note: This role is fully remote and you will need to work off your own equipment!**


The WordPress Developer will:

- Update the company's current website as well as build new web pages and integrate 3rd party plugins to improve customer use
- Write well-designed, testable, efficient code by using web development best practices
- Create advanced website layouts and user interfaces with HTML and CSS
- Integrate data from various back-end web services and databases
- Work with stakeholders to gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
- Create and maintain software documentation, SOPs
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility of new features in various technology assets such as iPhones, iPads, Androids etc.
- Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site
- Collaborate with in-house designers to realize visual design intent
- Adhere to timelines and meeting deadlines as well as quick responses to inquiries
- Sends weekly update on developments on website
- Utilize a consultative approach to analyze the current site and offer strategies and best practices for updates
- Present concepts and recommendations to the in-house team for feedback and insight
- Receive feedback and implement changes as needed



The WordPress Developer must:

- Have at least 3-4 years of development experience, specifically within WordPress
- Have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, web development, software development, or related field
- Be proficient in web development fundamentals, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP
- Understand front-end JavaScript frameworks and back-end frameworks
- Have proven visual design experience
- Understand relational databases such as MySQL
- Know agile and test-driven development best practices
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be plugged into emerging technologies and industry trends and apply them to operations and activities
- Be a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
- Be able to work autonomously on tight deadlines
- Be comfortable in a client-facing role and be able to take feedback well
- Be responsive when working on this project and stay in communication with the team regarding deadlines, revisions, etc.
