Our client, a household apparel, fashion and lifestyle brand, is seeking a Junior Retail Designer, with a strong design POV & project management skills, to join their in-house store design team as a full time employee.

**Please note: this client currently has a hybrid work schedule. You must be comfortable going into the client's office in Manhattan 2-3 days / week. A laptop will be provided to you!**

The Retail Designer will:

- Support the development process of architectural and display fixture ideasthrough 3D renderings, 2D architectural drawings, and hand sketches, projects will range from global concepts to high-profile locations of retail/wholesale stores, showrooms, tradeshows, and fixture programs
- Concept and produce design development renderings, drawings (plans, elevations, sections), and architectural details for fixtures, pedestals, tables, etc.
- Ensure that projects are designed in a manner consistent with brand aesthetics and best retail practices
- Develop high quality persuasive 3D studies/renderings, 2D layouts, and hand sketches to fully communicate HQ intent
- Collaborate with outside vendors (lighting designers, design architects, prototype contractors, etc.) as required to support timely delivery of global creative direction
- Assist with prototype store and fixture initiatives for new design work as needed
- Ensure that projects are complete and comprehensive with respect to documentation and workflow requirements
- Maintain orderly and accessible records of all design projects for ongoing reference
- Monitor schedules and budgets
- Manage the physical and digital housekeeping of drawing packages, design manuals, and material packages throughout the project
- Pull together inspiration images and concepts to create 3D interior renderings with a big focus on colors, materials, textures that will excite an audience
- Maintain supportive licensee relationships to guide the construction process and deliver environments that best represent the brand
- Work within existing brand guidelines and use the brand's playbook to inform your creative process
- Carry out functional design studies based on initial concept direction from internal creative partners

The Retail Designer must:

- Have at least 1 year of store design experience
- Previous experience in an architectural / design firm or in-house apparel / retail store design team for a fashion brand is highly preferred
- Have a Masters or BA in Architecture, Industrial design, Interior design etc.
- Have a portfolio that showcases 3D work and well-developed interior drawings with a minimalistic, clean aesthetic
- Have excellent computer drafting/rendering/graphic skills
- Be proficient in Google Sketchup or Rhino
- Be proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite as well as Microsoft Office Suite
- Previous experience with Wrike is a plus but not required
- Be proficient 3D modeling and views, V Ray rendering, and AutoCAD 2D/3D
- Have knowledge of retail design best practices
- Be able to read and interpret architectural drawings
- Be technically savvy with database management software
- Be a self starter that is willing to bring brand-conscious ideas to a collaborative team
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be extremely organized with excellent attention to detail
- Have a strong design POV with a keen eye for high quality, commercially viable, store design
- Be able to multi-task, work flexibly under pressure, and quickly adapt to change
- Be able to thrive in a creative and fast-paced environment
- Be able to take feedback well, within your team and externally
