Our client, a boutique design firm that builds brands and digital strategy for mission-driven organizations primarily in the arts & culture, criminal justice reform and education spaces, is seeking a Mid-level Branding / Graphic Designer to join their team as a full time employee

**Please note, this client currently has a hybrid work schedule. You must be comfortable going into the client's studio in Chelsea 2-3 days / week. Equipment will be provided to you!**


The Branding / Graphic Designer will be responsible for:

- Designing & creating materials of a high & consistent quality, with responsibility for selection and oversight of production
- Developing new brands in web and print: involves creating new brand systems and brand voice, discovery and branding research, logomarks, typographic hierarchy, templates, etc. ranging from full websites, social and digital ad campaigns, to print collateral
- Designing for existing brands: working within established brand systems to generate print & digital materials
- Brainstorming and building marketing campaigns across social media, email, print & microsites
- Creation of design system for websites, including mockups, animated prototypes & supplementary graphic components, creation of client guideline documents
- Creating, organizing & delivering production-ready assets & documentation
- Working with account manager to set appropriate schedules based on workflow
- Presenting comfortably to clients, working with them on a day-to-day basis & responding professionally & confidently to feedback
- Meeting with & receiving feedback from the team & accurately accounting for feedback in making revisions


The Brand / Graphic Designer must:

- Have a BFA/BA in graphic design or similar
- Have at least 3 years of multidisciplinary experience such as: comprehensive brand systems (including social media and digital ad campaign assets), feature-rich websites, robust print pieces, and digital presentation decks
- Have an outstanding creative portfolio that showcases previous 360 campaign work as well as a solid understanding of the R&D / design development process and a strong grasp of typographic hierarchy, color palette and image making
- Previous agency experience is preferred
- Previous experience with non-profit and/or arts & culture clients is a plus
- Have proven experience with web graphics and website design
- Familiarity with formal UX / UI fundamentals a plus
- Be proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite
- Familiarity with UX / product design tools (Adobe XD/Sketch/Figma), and digital prototyping programs such as InVision a plus
- Have strong experience managing the lifecycle of web deliverables from discovery through deployment
- Basic HTML & CSS skills to allow you to collaborate with developers are a plus
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Dot Digital, Constant Contact) is preferred
- Have experience with technical requirements for social formats, platforms, and image/video quality constraints
- Have experience with fielding client bug reports, escalating them to appropriate parties, etc.
- Familiarity with content editing and asset management in CMS platforms (WordPress, Squarespace) is preferred
- Experience with creative management systems (Basecamp, Google Suite, Slack, Miro) is a plus but not required
- Video editing skills and/or motion design experience is a plus
- Have excellent written, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Practice giving and taking feedback with a positive and curious attitude
- Have the ability to work on multiple projects at once, some on strict deadlines
