Our client, a fast-growing publishing company, is looking for a full-time Art Director to join their team! This role is offsite for now but will be onsite in Manhattan post-Covid.
The Art Director will:
-create dynamic book designs and collaborate closely with editorial / ops team on book production
-produce cover mechanicals / print-ready files
-assign and manage freelance designers on select covers and interior designs
-assist in allocating and managing illustration / photography
The Art Director has:
-ideally 5-7 years of experience in art direction (any proven experience in book design, preferably in publishing, is highly preferred)
-fluency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
-excellent knowledge of typography, and proper typesetting conventions
-strong organizational skills, and ability to adhere to tight deadlines
