Junior Video Editor - WFH during Covid-19

Starts November
Duration Full-time
Status Full-time
Rate Salary is DOE, $50K+
Our client, a leading small appliance kitchen brand, is looking to hire an entry level - intermediate Video Editor to be remote to start but eventually based onsite at their office in Northern NJ (not easily commutable by public transportation). Their office layout has been adjusted and is very spacious and spread out, with proper distancing. The space is modern and newly renovated!

Food related experience is not required; the hiring manager is looking for candidates who have worked specifically in video post-production as Video-Editors - a portfolio that has some kind of brand related content would be ideal, food-related content is a bonus – but most importantly the portfolio must be high quality.

Entry level candidates are qualified but candidates with experience (1-2 years is fine) coming from an in-house environment or from a post-production house where they only focused on video editing are ideal (vs. a jack of all trades). This role is just editing - not videography etc.

The Video Editor will be trained by the Lead Video Editor and be involved in post-production efforts, including editing product and cooking related videos (they are hiring an Animator / Motion Graphics Designer also).

Food video experience / a passion for the culinary space is a plus! They have an entire test kitchen studio onsite!

Portfolios don't need to be specific to food but they do need to be engaging, high quality and visually stimulating. The hiring manager needs to see professional quality, social/web ready videos in a portfolio.

They put out a lot of 60 second cooking/kitchen skills videos or short cooking instructional / how-to videos.

Video Editor Required Skills and Experience:
• Degree in Film and/or Media
• Proficiency in Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere software (After Effects a plus)
• Operates under a sense of urgency and works well under pressure
• Ability to multi task and manage multiple projects from start to conclusion on time
• A finger on the pulse of today’s trends and can pivot direction as needed
• Technologically savvy and well versed in social media trends

Video Editor Responsibilities:
• Ensuring recipe content creation quality and results meet high standards and are well crafted specifically for the products
• Ensuring video content is uniquely constructed to fit specific formats
• Collaborating to develop, refine and define a distinctive video style to fit the brand image
• Effectively communicating the brand vision with consistent messaging
• Ensuring that all output is consistent with brand vision and experience

Our client has an opening for a full-time, salaried Video Editor; before going full-time the hiring manager may want to freelance the Video Editor for a few days as a paid test period to ensure they will be a good fit for the team. The work will probably include a recipe editing project.
