Our client, a well known consumer brand / retail company, is looking to hire a full-time Front End Developer for their in-house eCommerce / Digital Marketing team (remote to start and eventually onsite with the team).

Qualified Front End Developers must have a good taste in design and be able to make micro-decisions on fonts and colors etc. once the design mock ups have been handed off by the Designer to be brought to life by the Developer!

Is the site fun to use? Is it pleasing to the eye?

Portfolios need to be responsive and feel modern, polished and professional.

Experience with content management systems is helpful because our client is looking to choose a new CMS right now (maybe Drupal or Magento) that they can build custom shopping pages on and they would like input on that decision.

Since all of the development work will be for eCommerce, experience developing for a shopping / retail site with buy options, product zoom functions, etc. is required.

An awareness of design and an understanding of userflows and journey maps etc. is helpful since the Developer will be handed mock ups from the Graphic Designer to build.

eCommerce Front End Developer Requirements:
• At least 3 years of development experience
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field
• Ecommerce front end development experience
• Familiarity with content management systems
• Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, and client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks
• Understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms such as LESS and SASS

eCommerce Front End Developer Responsibilities:
• Serve as primary eCommerce technical lead for a rapidly growing eCommerce business unit, providing guidance on advantages and disadvantages of various E-Commerce platforms and CMS’
• Develop with mobile first / eComm conversion as top priorities
• Build and improve upon product sorting and comparison shopping features
• Partner with the back end developers on the IT team
