Account Manager (Public Relations)

Our Public Relations agency client is looking for an account manager to join their team, 40 hours per week, for at least the next 6 months. This role has the opportunity to convert to FTE for the right candidate. This role is 100% remote.

In this role you will be responsible for creating new strategic ideas and proactively pitching and generating editorial coverage with each PR announcement.

Additional responsibilities include:
- managing maintaining and growing client relationships while ensuring stakeholders are aligned
- managing a minimum of $300,000 - $500,000 in annual revenue
- partnering with clients to understand communication and business objectives.
- performing analysis of client objectives and make recommendations
- identifying strategic goals for client and translate them into a public relations plans, programs and campaigns
- driving day-to-day client activity by managing or performing necessary work
- developing and writing press materials, placing stories, leading press tours, providing counsel to clients and more
- managing account activity to public relations budgets and consistently achieve revenue goals and client satisfaction.
- leading client meetings
- developing strong working relationships with clients, press, conference organizers and analysts
- educating key stakeholders in client companies about the value of public relations and communication programs
- providing guidance to and mentor junior staff and supervise account staff
- managing third-party vendors and contractors as needed

The ideal account manager will have:
- 7+ years of experience in a PR/ agency space
- experience in B2B software
- proven ability to write and develop compelling materials such as press releases, bylines, white papers, plans, speeches, and backgrounders.
- proven ability to establish and maintain effective editor and industry analyst relationships. An understanding of how various media work
- strong understanding of and ability to execute PR plans, strategies and programs based on client objectives.
- knowledge of social media and the ability to identify how it can be leveraged to achieve client objectives and communication strategy
- familiarity with the Associated Press style guide
- ability to effectively manage client budgets
