Packaging Production Artist - North Phoenix

Our client is hiring a freelance Packaging Production Artist to help with work overflow for the next few months.

This will be onsite in North Phoenix, 15-30 hours per week, ongoing. They expect there will be a solid 20 hours per week and could lead to more.

*Must be comfortable around pets

• 3D modeling/rendering software familiarity
• Press checks and/or validation of brand color for accuracy
• CXF custom brand color technology

What you need to know as a Packaging Production Artist:
Support Production team by managing Epson printing of proofs and packaging mockups.
• Create 3D renders of select packaging to our specifications and pass to Asset Mgmt. team.
• Interpret corrections/feedback from a workflow management system, then make revisions.
• Use reference art and style guides supplied by Design team to build out packaging files through adaptive design, including setting spot colors, appropriate layers, and white and
varnish plates as needed.
• Partner with printers and team to ensure high-quality, accurate printing.
• Oversee proof cycles during production to ensure quality, accuracy and design objectives.
• Manage the archiving of job-related digital and physical assets for self and team.

What you will be doing as a Packaging Production Artist:
3+ years’ experience in production design, preferably CPG
• Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign & Photoshop), plus Microsoft Office.
• Competency in 3D modeling/rendering software, KeyShot preferred.
• Familiarity with substrates, printing, and finishing techniques and terminology.
• Experience with a workflow management system color, proportion, etc.
• Demonstrate competency in best practices for file build methods and dielines mechanics.
• Basic understanding of packaging components, types and substrates.
• Industry standard color management knowledge and its application (CMYK and Pantone).
• Basic understanding of pre-press and printing processes and technology.
