Our social media giant client seeks a Policy Programs Manager to join their team onsite in Menlo Park in this 10 + month freelance opportunity! Company shuttle is provided.

The Policy Programs Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Develop, design, and manage studies addressing key tech policy questions.
- Identify, monitor, and analyze relevant policy research trends and issues relevant to client's policy goals.
- Day-to-day project management and administrative duties pertaining to the unit’s research programs, including monitoring of budget and contracts, approval of expenditures, triaging requests from other teams, and working with relevant personnel.
- Work with central and international Policy teams to build a prioritized research agenda.
- Work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders such as Communications, Data Science, and Marketing teams.
- Manage relationships with external partners conducting research and studies supporting the Policy agenda with a particular focus on economic impact.
- Translate research findings into easy-to-understand formats such as one-pagers and visualizations, briefing papers, and memos.

The ideal Policy Programs Manager should possess the following:
- Master’s degree in Political Science, Economics, Public Policy or related field preferred.
- 4+ years of experience with research or program evaluation projects, doing quantitative analysis (years of advanced education may count as experience).
- Knowledge of policy issues, especially technology policy issues.
- Experience directing and coordinating vendors to deliver results.
- Deep understanding of the research process and project cycle from development to closure.
- Experience using primary and secondary research to influence policymakers, management, and colleagues.
