Our client, a well known and highly regarded consumer goods company, is currently seeking a longterm freelance Design Lead with experience developing and implementing global identity systems to join their team.

This opportunity is hybrid onsite/remote in NJ, with specific schedules still being worked out, but likely 1-2x a week onsite. Please note there is a free shuttle from downtown NYC to the NJ Office.

This starts ASAP after interview process and will be ongoing through 2024 with potential to extend based on performance and business need.

Responsibilities:
- Develop a Scalable Global Identity System: Lead the continued development of a cohesive and scalable identity system that effectively communicates the brand's values and resonates with their target high-value audiences
- Leading photoshoots, leading illustration development, creating templates and guidelines and evolving and implementing systems around brand architecture
- Complete and thorough understanding of brand to act as SME for brand questions
- Ensure that the identity system is globally scalable and adaptable to various mediums and channels, maintaining consistency and coherence across all touchpoints
- Collaborate with and work with cross-functional teams to integrate the brand into all aspects of the business, fostering a unified brand experience
- Apply design-thinking methodology to all brand development processes to ensure a flexible and scalable system
- Continuously evaluate and evolve design systems to remain competitive and relevant in a rapidly changing landscape
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of projects that answer business objectives

Requirements:
- 10+ years well rounded and hands on design experience with specific experience building brands with a focus on developing and implementing global identity systems
- Must have a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in brand development, design thinking and process and visual storytelling
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite design programs (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) and Figma
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- A strategic mindset with a keen eye for detail and a passion for excellence in design
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization
- Ability to proactively communicate opportunities and hurdles with Senior Managers of Corporate Identity
