Our client, a rapidly-growing beauty and body care brand, is seeking a Creative Director with proven experience building in-house beauty brands to join their team.

**Please note, this is a hybrid schedule role. The ideal candidate will be commutable to NYC and able to go into the office a few times a month for meetings. A laptop will be provided to you!**

The Creative Director will be responsible for:

- Translating marketing objectives into clear creative strategies for global markets
- Collaborating with the marketing and retail sales departments in developing marketing plans, analyzing results, and identifying opportunities
- Defining the creative vision for the brand, advertising campaigns, and marketing messages
- Managing the creative process from concept to completion
- Recognizing great copy, design, and fresh approaches to selling beauty products
- Conducting brainstorming sessions with the creative team, maintaining strategic and creative thinking to develop innovative and actionable creative initiatives in a fiscally responsible manner
- Ensuring a cohesive look and feel for all creative materials
- Producing fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas into compelling print materials and digital experiences for visually sophisticated audiences
- Presenting, or overseeing the presentation of final concepts, and obtaining approvals for deliverables
- Ensuring that the visuals, messaging, and interactive elements of all projects are properly aligned with the creative vision and brand standards
- Articulating the creative vision to our team of creatives and determining which artistic components to use
- Building an environment for the creative team to work in and overseeing their ideas and projects
- Supervising a cross-functional team of art directors, packaging and graphic designers, copywriters, social media experts, photographers / videographers, retouchers, and project managers in the strategic development of messages and deliverables
- Building, leading, and reviewing work of the 35+ member creative team in the production of all web, print, social media, In-store display, packaging and digital marketing collateral
- Prioritizing work and resources across engagements based on short- and long-term needs, establishing production schedules by collaborating with designers, copywriters, and production departments
- Troubleshooting and providing feedback to creative teams, helping the creative team overcome obstacles that arise within a project and offer solutions
- Actively being in involved in hiring and training creative staff, mentoring, motivating, and supervising the creatives on their team; Nurturing their creatives? ideas and monitoring their overall performance
- Managing and cultivating the career development of staff members, including designers, art directors, copywriters, photographers, and project managers
- Understanding advertising trends and how to compete in new marketing spaces
- Overseeing the identification and supervision of outside creative resources when needed
- Representing the creative team and it?s work on the Executive Committee
- Meeting budget standards by forecasting and managing expenses

The Creative Director must:

- Have 10 years of related experience with 7+ years of creative direction in an agency or corporate setting
- Have a minimum of 5 years? digital experience, particularly with, but not limited to web, social and emerging technologies
- Have at least 7 years of experience creating marketing / advertising campaigns, from developing vision and the message platform to overseeing production on time and budget
- Have strong experience and the proven ability to build a brand in the beauty world
- Have a holistic understanding of the entire creative process
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint
- Experience with Asana is ideal but not required
- Have a strong creative vision with an understanding of business objectives
- Have in-depth knowledge of brand development and multichannel marketing models
- Have an understanding of and past experience with creating integrated content across all marketing channels from digital, social media, paid media, mobile, but also understand offline and print
- Have proven experience with concept development
- Be highly skilled in leading a team of creative talent with excellent leadership and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to inspire the creative team to give their best
- Have a self-starting attitude and an open outlook
- Have the proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and to meet deadlines using excellent organizational skills, quality execution and attention to detail
- Have an understanding of pop culture and emerging technologies / the "new" creative world in the digital space
- Have strong communication skills with ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely
- Be able to provide and receive constructive feedback that is necessary to lead internal teams to the best solution
- Be able to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment
- Be highly collaborative with ability to understand the objectives of all cross-functional partners and work toward a design that meets that need and upholds the creative integrity of the brand
- Have a strong work ethic and personal accountability
- Foster a culture of innovation, inclusion, and creativity
