Our client, a professional hockey team based on Long Island, is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer to join their team.

**Please note, this role is currently remote but the organization expects to return to hybrid work schedule. They are open to remote candidates who can commute to their office in Floral Park, NY (on Long Island) for meetings, games, events, etc.**

The Senior Graphic Designer will be responsible for:

- Creating and delivering design concepts across print, web and social, concepting graphics and layouts that can leverage the history of franchise while also offering ideas for creative risk-taking
- Concepting and adapting creative that is fit for specific for web as well as social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
- Developing creative that supports sales and builds equity in the brand whilst working within brand guidelines and any established campaign structure as needed
- Working on a variety of projects that spanning the entire brand including brand identity, broadcast graphics, digital, website, social media, email, arena signage, sales collateral and community events, etc.
- Preparing visual guidelines for company-wide creative assets
- Taking tasks from design brief all the way through to implementation on multiple platforms
- Mentoring junior-level designer(s)
- Working within brand guidelines and any established campaign structure as needed but having the ability to push concepts, elevate designs and come to the table with fresh ideas
- Crafting solutions with high visual impact that will help to elicit positive responses from various customer and client segments
- Providing support for the social team during games, sometimes working "odd" hours on weekends, holidays and late at night for west coast games
- Working with ownership on design concepts and helping to develop the creative "look and feel" for each season




The ideal Senior Graphic Designer must:

- Have a Bachelor's Degree
- Have a minimum of 5 years of graphic design experience, preferably from a creative agency
- A sports background is a plus but not required
- Have a portfolio that showcases a diverse range of 360 campaign and branding work as well as a clean, modern aesthetic with bold typography and use of color
- Be highly skilled in using industry-leading software and technologies, ie: Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office (specifically PowerPoint and Keynote)
- Animation skills are a plus
- Be passionate and invested in your work
- Be curious to learn
- Have a creative and artistic flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
- Be able to communicate and present ideas whilst explaining design decisions to peers + senior leadership
- Exude professionalism regarding cost + deadlines
- Be fluent in design, sports, fashion, editorial, film and tech?as well as visual history and classical references
- Be comfortable tackling problems head-on and adapting to shifting priorities
- Be at ease presenting your work and explaining design decisions
- Be able to conceptualize and execute designs from a blank canvas
- Be a motivated self-starter with a no-task-too-small attitude
- Be a champion of great design
- Be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with ability to multi-task and collaborate
- Be able and willing to work flexible hours, ie: around hockey games including weekends
- Be aware of and interested in latest digital + social media trends shaping professional sports, ie: live and breathe the cross-section of sports // pop culture // music // fashion // art // entertainment
