Our professional association client in Alexandria, VA is looking for a Communications Strategist (Events) to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to join an establish Marketing and Events team. This position 40 hours a week and is ONSITE Tuesday - Friday.

The ideal Communications Strategist (Events) will have experience driving the communication outreach for events including writing pre, during, and post communications for events. Writing samples must be included to be considered for this position.

Duties of the Communications Strategist (Events):
- Develop and execute communication plans for various types of events - communication plans focused on custom attendee journeys to increase engagement
- Write and coordinate attendee outreach including email outreach, automated outreach, announcements/notifications
- Support the day to day event strategy - develop creative messaging, topics, speaker ideation, event personas
- Produce and integrate audience-centric content for the event website, email campaigns, virtual platforms, onsite signage, etc
- Craft key messaging and event narratives based on the event business goals and objectives
- Partner with internal teams to ensure consistent storytelling and messaging across event collateral and websites
- Creative and review written event programming i.e. exhibitor descriptions, scripts, speaker bios, pitch bios
- Work with Data/Research teams to anaylze attendee engagement

Requirements of the Communications Strategist (Events):
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English
- 5+ years of experience developing copy and marketing collateral for events, conferences, brand activations
- Experience working on live or hybrid events and conferences
- Knowledge of Marketo and Salesforce highly preferred
- Extensive experience engaging customers or event attendees through email
- Agency experience highly preferred
