Our education client in Northern VA is looking for a talented PR Manager to join their team. This position is full-time and direct hire. The client is currently fully remote with possible plans to re-open an office or collaboration space in 2022.

To be considered for this role you must have experience doing marketing, PR, or media relations for an educational institute or a publicly traded company. You should enjoy writing and editing content.

Duties of the PR Manager:
- Manage the institution's PR tactics from end-to-end i.e. proactive pitching and news releases, obtaining speaking engagements and industry awards, elevate the brand's visibility and reputation
- Write press releases, media lists, conduct media outreach
- Assist with management of PR agency for new announcements
- Work across departments to leverage opportunities and content to cross prompt and increase awareness
- Build and maintain a relationship with a targeted media list to ensure the institution's narrative and brand are being accurately represented
- Proactively create storytelling opportunities to communicate news, messaging to reach a national audience
- Provide written responses to reporter requests - be the relevant expert
- Create talking points, key messaging, FAQs and briefing documents for key stakeholders
- Work directly with stakeholders and write/edit content based on their needs

Requirements of the PR Manager:
- Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, etc
- 4-7 years of experience working in a educational institution or publicly traded company's marketing or PR team
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Agency or journalism experience a plus
- Experience managing all aspects of the PR - writing releases, managing outreach, etc
