Communications Coordinator - WFH during Covid-19

Our advocacy client in Washington, DC is looking for a Communications Coordinator to join their team on an ongoing contract. This position is approximately 30-40 hours a week.

The ideal candidate will have experience contacting interviewees and conducting interviews for editorial articles. You will be passionate about issues surrounding military/veterans.

Duties of the Communications Coordinator:
- Manage the scheduling of interviews with members via email and phone
- Conduct interview with members
- Secure photos, videos, and relevant materials to the interviewed members
- Provided detailed and clear notes for additional team members to write stories and member profiles
- Write member profiles/stories based on the interview

Requirements of the Communications Coordinator:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications
- Excellent writing skills
- Experience conducting interviews for journalistic/editorial purposes
- You should be comfortable listening to interviewees discuss issues surrounding suicide, depression, harassment
