Our client, a leading beauty brand, is looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative Digital Designer to join their team freelance to full-time as a Design Lead, hybrid, onsite in NYC and remote (mostly remote but the occasional onsite meeting may be needed; proof of vaccination is required for all onsite meetings).

Their brand, which boasts a playful persona, was built upon a unique and specific style that includes lifestyle and product photography and videography, music and sound, bold typography, and complex animations.

This role really is specific to design for digital advertising so portfolios must show lots of evidence of digital ad work – static and animated with expertise in After Effects.

The long-term plan is to bring on a Junior Digital Designer to assist the Design Lead with workload.

The Digital Design Lead will report directly to the Senior Art Director and will collaborate very closely with the Digital Copy Writer and Senior Manager of Digital Marketing.

Design Lead Qualifications
• BA/BS/BFA degree in digital design, graphic design, graphic communications, or related field.
• 6+ years of working experience preferably at a digital agency or in-house Web team for a product-driven business
• Beauty experience is required, even if it’s minimal
• Required: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe Premiere
• Preferred: After Effects, Adobe Premiere
• Strong design background including typography, layout, aesthetic, and brand-driven sensibilities
• Proficiency in all aspects of Digital Design and extremely adept at digital animation
• Ability to leverage existing assets, and partner with Senior Art Director, Creative Director, Photo/Video Team on ideation for developing new assets for this touchpoint as needed
• A master graphic technician: concerned with resolutions, color and size accuracy, production values

Design Lead Responsibilities
• Ensure brand design standards are upheld, style guide is adhered to and able to solve layout challenges creatively while remaining on brand
• Strategize and execute various digital ad suites
• Develop strong collaborative relationships with Digital Copywriter and Senior Manager of Digital Marketing to develop high-functioning creative - working closely to identify needs, opportunities and to quickly react to traffic data and insights
• Translate product positioning, consumer trends, and offline/online marketing strategies into effective designs and layouts to translate the sensorial experience of the brand and products to the digital screen
• Partner with broader Digital Team to ensure that communications are aligned, brand standards are upheld, and the Digital Experience is unified across the different business sectors
• Manage and produce digital design work to spec, including various sizing and versioning - both static and animated
• Oversee retouching of assets needed for ad suites
