Our client, a hot new haircare brand, is seeking a Social Media Strategist to join their team in a freelance capacity to start with the opportunity to become a full time employee.

This role is great for someone who has extensive experience in Social Media creating effective strategy with proven results. If you live and breathe social media and have worked for consumer/ community focused brands (especially in the beauty space), this role is for you!

The Social Media Strategist will be responsible for:
- Acting as the owner of social media strategy, reporting, and community management across all social platforms - Instagram (mostly), TikTok and Pinterest (establishing), Facebook and Twitter (maintenance only).
- Work cross functionally with product development, brand, education, sales, and e-commerce teams to develop 360 programs and content.
- Use brand pillars and goals to create and manage social calendar
- Cover social live for special events, photo shoots, etc. to compliment pre-planned content
- Brief and source copy points from internal team and edit accordingly for each channel
- Plan and execute social partnerships
- Partner with teams to establish and standardize KPIs and re-evaluate or audit for new metrics when needed; share insights; and facilitate best practices across brands
- Own and provide monthly, quarterly, and yearly analytics reports: highlights for channel health, audience growth, engagement
- Track and monitor KPIs in real-time to optimize and pivot strategies, tactics and content development
- Utilize social listening to synthesize ongoing trends, test-and-learn, monitor competitive brands, and report on quantitative findings from social media community to inspire new campaigns
- Stay abreast of algorithmic changes and social platform updates; be at the forefront of what is happening in the space and propose new platforms to enter and first to market programs
- Review the social and digital work of competitors and industry leaders to stay at the forefront of digital trends;
- Co-lead community management with Customer Retention Manager to ensure quick response times and content delivery in an authentic brand voice
- Support the Founder & CEO’s social media channels as needed
- Partner with teams to develop customer service guidelines/ responses, FAQs, and client communications in line with the brand’s voice and personality
- Oversee and manage internal documentation of social media best practices
- Manage Social Media Coordinator, who will handle execution of community management and social posting.

The ideal Social Media Strategist will have the following qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience managing social media accounts and strategy on Instagram, Facebook, Twiter. TikTok, Pinterest ideal.
- Ability to take a brand strategy and execute it with help of a coordinator.
- Experience working independently within a mission- driven / community-focused brand (BEAUTY IDEAL)
- Management experience
- Experience with social media reporting
- Proven ability to create campaigns and programs that drive acquisition and engagement,
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment and closely with high-level execs like the founder and CMO.
