Our client, a global financial company, is looking to hire a midlevel Copywriter for a 3 month freelance project.

What exactly should qualified Copywriters have?
- A good breadth of experience and the ability to create diversity and depth through strategic thinking
- A diverse book (this team doesn't work on any TV)
- A mix of print and digital, short form and longer format pieces (i.e. brochures, direct mail, etc.) in portfolio
- A strong background in writing marketing copy
- Around 7-10 years of tactical, hands on copy experience (on a mix of print and digital and long-form and short-form even though this role will focus more on the credit card side of the business and more on digital, short-form)
- An understanding of and experience in regulated industries (ideally banking but pharma could suffice - just not all pharma only or all banking experience only)

The hiring manager wants to see more of a conceptual marketing copywriter vs. a journalistic writer; ideally someone who has big brand experience with an agency or in-house team.

In the interview process, the hiring manager will touch on EQ so please be prepared to answer the following types of questions since emotional intelligence is important:
1. What’s your working style?
2. How do you work with others in a meeting?
3. How would you handle / express concerns about something not going well?

Copywriter Details / Duties:
- Report to a copy lead on the hiring manager's copy team
- Work closely with various Art Directors and Designers
- Translate a brief into copy (absorb the information and translate it into something compelling)
- Ability to take the charge of "Figure out how to say this in 4 words" for a digital banner and run with it - not intimidated!
- Projects are mainly for tactical kinds of writing (ATM screens, emails, branch signage, etc.)
- Special projects that are more nebulous: anything from an internally focused project or naming projects for a new product or team, w/ a lot of strategic thinking and concepting
