Position Senior UX Product Designer
Location Northern NJ & NYC
Starts March, after in person whiteboarding interview
Duration 3 Months then full-time (40 hours a week)
Status freelance to full-time
Rate DOE, starting at $59 an hour
Our client, a global financial institution, needs to hire a freelance to full-time Senior UX Product Designer who is comfortable solving challenging problems with complex systems, onsite between NYC and NJ.

This team looks for a high degree of competency, strong visual design skills, and a broad UX skillset: interaction design, mapping user journeys, high level flows, etc. so the hiring manager wants to see a healthy mix of UX strategic thinking and strong hands on design skills in a portfolio.

Senior UX Product Designer Details:
- Design web based applications for digital investments: tools that customers and clients use and also tools for the internal teams that serve those clients (mainly on the wealth segment portion of the internal side)
- Designers are comfortable at the strategic, mapping level and can envision the future state but also comfortable with the hands on visual design
- This is not a UX research role but it will require collaboration with the researchers, product managers and writers etc.
- Mock up simple and elegant design solutions utilizing a deep understanding of composition, balance, symmetry and white space
- Elevate the work from the traditional financial design style towards a more modern and flexible aesthetic
- Make internal tools more usable and beautiful and bring other efficiencies to the organization through design
- Proven experience designing web applications that are potentially responsive and can at least scale to tablet size

It’s rare that in a company this big you see and feel when something new is pushed out to clients. They spent the better part of the last couple of years building up a strong design studio to deliver across internal and client facing experiences. It’s rare to own that end to end customer journey!
