Our client, a global publishing company, needs onsite freelance help from an experienced User Interface Designer, starting early August.

Once ramped up, there is some flexibility for offsite/work from home but 60 - 75% of the work should be done onsite at their office in Hudson County (very easily commutable by public transportation).

Experience working on a website redesign is needed.


The User Interface Designer will:
• Create wireframes (any method/software is fine), prototypes and high-fidelity designs for responsive websites
• Get approval from internal stakeholders and then create the designs from scratch
• Work with product managers and developers in an iterative design process to define user issues and solutions
• Present concepts in various stages of completion to gather feedback
• Conduct and document usability testing


The User Interface Designer must have:
• At least 5 years of experience in user interface design
• Experience with response design
• Proficiency in Adobe CS, Invision, Sketch, etc.
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Familiarity working in an agile environment
• Bachelor's degree

The User Interface Designer needs to ensure:
• Internal stakeholder (product, field marketing and sales) satisfaction with design and customer journey
• Brand compliance
• Optimal use of existing copy and assets
• Effective site usability and wow-factor
• Effective and productive relationship with the website developer (who did their best on the previous redesign)
• Effective and productive relationship with the SEO manager
• Build wireframes for new WordPress site design


Our client's office is easily commutable by public transportation (ferry, bus, and train); free parking is not available but parking garages are available.
