Our client, a retail franchise company, needs to hire a full-time Product Marketing Manager to focus on Retail Solutions for their franchises, based onsite at their office in Hudson County (easily commutable by various forms of public transportation).

This role requires ownership -- the desire to do what needs to be done to own the retail product marketing! A high degree of ownership is key.

Experience building and delivering products for a franchise system is ideal but at the very least some sort of B2B2C experience is needed since our client's franchises each operate like small business.

Qualified Product Marketing Managers can be generalists but ideally have at least 5 years of Product Management experience in a business-to-business (B2B) environment, working with sales teams and directly engaging large and mid-sized enterprise customers.

Product Marketing Manager Responsibilities:
• Directly engage franchisees, Franchise Operations, and Training & Development teams to identify compelling solutions to retail challenges and needs, leveraging existing or new services, technology and production capabilities
• Write BDD (behavior driven development) documents, drive prioritization of features and tradeoffs, work with multiple scrum teams, and develop and continually manage a well-groomed backlog
• As the product owner, collaborate with and motivate cross-functional teams, including franchisees, aligning on common product strategies and tactics
• Set the tone for a high functioning team, able to effectively collaborate and influence at scale, while building a culture of optimism and resiliency
• Successfully and continually manage and prioritize overall product and project roadmaps; manage overall product and solution lifecycle
• Hands-on product development from concept through delivery with a cross functional team to deliver against an aggressive timeline. Work closely with associated internal teams to balance technical, product and business trade-offs
• Use financial acumen and key business metrics to build business cases that inform investments, prioritize defined project initiatives, and determine successful deployment and adoption of features
• Anticipate and help resolve resource gaps, obstacles and timing issues. Ensure efficient use of company’s resources cross-functionally
• Some to moderate travel is required

The ideal Product Marketing Manager is a veteran of SaaS and/or B2B2C environments (e.g., building tools for other franchise systems; building tools for brokers or other independent sales organizations).

Experience with SaaS, marketing automation, digital print, mobile and e-commerce applications is a plus.
