Our client, a global Financial Services / Retail Bank, is currently seeking an experienced freelance Visual Designer for a 6 month freelance assignment, with likely extension, onsite at their office in NJ (commutable by public transportation).

The Visual Designer must be comfortable articulating complex technical products in a visual manner because the products they design for are focused on the technology arena (a background in UX/UI would be helpful but isn't required).

The team this Visual Designer will be a part of is responsible for marketing to an internal audience with the goal of keeping them interested, excited and engaged around the workplace technology available to them!

Qualities and skills the hiring manager wants to see in the ideal Visual Designer:
• Attention to detail
• A visual storyteller
• Strong team player and strong communicator (the team is global but hours are regular business hours)
• Desire to take ownership and accountability for assigned projects
• Works well on digital projects (The team is doing a lot of digital but the campaign work could include the following: Internet and intranet sites, games, movies, kiosks, wearables, posters, banners, PowerPoints, videos, animations, and collateral development)
• A portfolio that demonstrates a clear understanding of color theory
• A sophisticated eye for design including intelligently executed layouts, refined use of typography and incorporation of an appropriate photographic style
• Knowledge of user-centered design methodologies


Key Visual Designer Responsibilities:
• Create the visual brand for the suite of technology products, including marketing campaigns of the technology products. As part of this, understand the product brand, vision and key message(s), and incorporate into design solutions
• Work closely with Product Management and the Marketing team to effectively communicate the message through the visual solution.
• Create visually impactful design solutions in line with the brand to effectively communicate key information on the technology products
• Produce high quality icons and images and share amongst the marketing team for consistent branding
• Work with internal print centers to send collateral to print, including obtaining and verifying proofs
• Work closely with the UI team to create assets suitable for mobile and desktop apps
• Create posters, banners, headers, PowerPoint templates, GIFs, brochures and digital signage
• Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts, and challenge the status quo
• Present ideas and concepts to team members and management
• Work with the Marketing team to understand the objective and proactively suggest and implement ideas for marketing campaigns
• Understand typography, color, materials and textures and how they effectively apply to product design
