Our client, a major consumer goods company located in Rhode Island is looking for a Packaging Designer to join their team - starting in November!

This is a 40 hr/wk freelance opportunity slated for one year. Work will be done in a hybrid capacity (3 days on site, 2 days remote).

The Packaging Designer will work under the direction of an Art Director, you will contribute to the overall creation and implementation of package designs, based on brand DNA, that translate brand message while maximizing current technologies and trends.

As the Packaging Designer, you will:
? Conceptualize and execute toy packaging concepts which include break-frame packaging, line looks, logos, iconography, basic structural studies, etc.
? Participate and contribute in brainstorm sessions and consistently use sense of creativity, foresight and good design judgment in developing and applying marketplace trends (e.g. competitive graphics, styles, fashion, lifestyles, etc.)
? Partner with Structural Engineers to create innovative, sustainable package structure
? Consider and understand QA and Legal package requirements and apply to packaging accordingly
? Utilize internal resources and time management skills to independently manage projects and achieve individual project milestones on-time and on-budget
? Create packaging-related presentation assets and provide support for presentations, trade show and other packaging comp needs.

The IDEAL Packaging Designer will have:
? 5+ years of experience
? Comprehensive knowledge of packaging production methods and ability to build production ready files; sustainable packaging knowledge a plus
? Experience working with style guides and ability to conceptualize and execute unique 1-off package designs based on established brand guidelines
? Proficiency using Adobe Creative Cloud apps: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat; and proficient in Microsoft Office 365 apps including Teams, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
? Strong presentation skills
? Ability to negotiate and direct projects with vendors as well as maintain relationships
? Provide clear communication and ensure approval process protocols are adhered to
? Advise on design-related initiatives and serve as a liaison between licensor and Hasbro for package development, provide solutions for design-related obstacles
