Our client, a retail company, needs an experienced Graphic Designer with strong illustration skills to assist their Party Team onsite at their office for at least 6 months of freelance (their office in Westchester County is not easily commutable by public transportation).

Some sort of consumer product design experience required (any industry: jewelry, beauty, electronics, etc.) not just packaging or party goods, but that would be a plus.

Qualified Graphic Designers must be organized and strong with verbal and email communication to deal with a lot of different internal sales teams and VP’s and their teams etc. since they will be the only Designer working on design for this new business initiative alongside the Creative Director.

At least 2-3 years in an environment with product design experience is needed – the days aren’t cut and dry and projects can change because it’s a new initiative for the company. Flexibility is a must. Final production goes out in Illustrator even if the artwork is generated in Photoshop.

Experience with PowerPoint for presentations is a plus.

The Graphic Designer may go to client meetings and assist the CD in leading the creative portion of the meeting and get the client excited about the design talent that our client has to offer. The work could be mock ups, design, or presentations and will vary but strong illustration skills that lend themselves to Tableware and Decoration Design is imperative.

As the team grows there will be room for growth so there's a chance this could grow into full-time.
