Our client needs a Junior Graphic Designer to join their in-house design team, for a freelance to full-time need starting July or August 2018, onsite at their office (not easily commutable by public transportation).

The ideal Junior Graphic Designer is a true creative who can think outside the box and can problem solve with technical / physical product design experience.

A Designer out of the toy industry, home products, or accessories or who can show spec work created around those industries will be in line with what they need.

Samples of cupcake stands, table toppers, party goods that are usable etc. is what the client needs to see and in fun designs like a princess castle cupcake tower. The Designer must have the ability to come up with brand new ideas for party goods and formats.

This includes looking on Pinterest and seeing DIY projects and figuring out how they can turn it into a physical party product and then working with the costing team to figure out if it’s viable after hand making a mock up.

Experience with tech packs is ideal.

There are a lot of mock ups involved and it's a very hands on role. Art work might be taken from another areas and applied to products but the Junior Graphic Designer will also develop new artwork, creating drafts and mock ups in Illustrator and Photoshop (stronger in Illustrator is better but proficiency in both is required).

Junior Graphic Designer Requirements / Responsibilities:
• Advanced Mac computer skills in Illustrator and Photoshop
• B.F.A. or B.A. with specialization in Fine Arts or Graphic Design or equivalent degree
• Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is preferred, not required
• Strong design, illustration skills & aesthetic. Highly Creative!
• Proficient in the technical setup & preparation of artwork files for production
• Create final, production-ready artwork files from rough sketches and/or verbal direction
• Execute initial design concepts all the way through to final production stage within allotted timelines that are based both on creative and business objectives
• Experience creating and preparing tech packs
