Our client, a cpg company, needs a VP of Creative to join their in-house team full-time, starting this month, May 2018.

The VP of Creative will report into the President of the company and direct the strategy, creation and execution of all graphics materials (print, online/digital, mobile, etc.) in support of growing the company’s existing and future product lines.

VP of Creative Duties and Responsibilities:
• Establish creative-communications strategies, in conjunction with internal marketing and senior leadership team
• Research, conceptualize and execute logos, retail packaging and point-of-purchase display construction and designs, digital and print advertisements, sales & marketing-support materials, etc., across a variety of product categories
• Ensure work product optimizes sales of the company’s products, breaks through the clutter in the marketplace and on major-retailer store shelves, and is manufacturing friendly and relatively cost effective
• Manage and oversee all photo shoots
• Manage and ensure that all creative deliverables are met on quality, on time/deadline and on budget
• Liaison and support to internal management team of other functional-level departments (Product Development, Marketing, New-Products Acquisition/Merchandising, Sales, etc.)
• Oversee and ensure quality and consistency of all creative materials (both print and digital) that go into production and/or are used
• Manage, assess, nurture, and continually grow internal and external creative team members, resources and technologies
• Organize, maintain and manage all creative files, to ensure accuracy and fast access to the same as needed, even if aged
• Monitor and analyze market trends and competing consumer-products companies, to ensure creative competitiveness in the market
• Research and analyze consumer-satisfaction ratings and feedback of products online, to uncover key-selling propositions, in support of effective creative communications
• Adhere to and promote company values by performing duties in a manner that is consistent with being a team member, and support the continued growth of the company
• Perform other related duties, assignments, and administrative tasks as required
• Responsible for overall administration of the creative department (i.e. negotiating vendor rates, approving and processing vendor invoices, dispute resolution, etc.)

VP of Creative Requirements:
• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree required (Graphic Design, Marketing, Communication preferred)
• Direct experience in consumer-packaged goods industry, having worked with major brands, agencies and/or major-retailer chains
• Minimum of five years of related Creative Director role or higher work experience from the consumer-packaged goods brand side, retailer side or creative/advertising agency side
• Exceptional visual, oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with a strong sense of urgency
• Hands-on experience in Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Acrobat, etc.); MS Office Suite and Internet savvy

• Highly creative individual who understands effective sales and merchandising
• Energetic, self-starter who works extremely well both autonomously and in a team environment
• Can-do attitude and genuine passion, enthusiasm and interest for the consumer products industry
• Ability to handle the pressure and flexibility of a fast-paced, creative environment
