Our client, a law firm, needs a Business Development Coordinator with marketing experience to join their 15 person in-house marketing team for a freelance to possible full-time opportunity onsite at their office in Essex County NJ (not commutable) or at their NYC office - no work from home.

Corporate experience is a requirement along with business development experience from a a law firm or big accounting firm.

Ideal Business Development Coordinators have experience from a law firm or an accounting firm but any sort of corporate experience in a bigger environment will work; 1-4 years of experience total.

The Business Development Coordinator will report to the Business Development Manager and work closely with the Business Development and Marketing team to conceive of and execute projects.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in utilizing Word, Excel and PowerPoint to prepare firm and practice group materials using prepared templates
• Prepare custom firm and practice group materials for pitches and events
• Gather, organize, and draft matter descriptions to maintain group experience lists
• Provide editorial support as needed, including preparing short summaries of materials and editing and proofing of documents (editing and proofing is less than 20% of the role)
• Prepare materials connected to events including invitations, signage, leave-behinds, and other materials, working with the firm’s events team
• Work with the marketing assistant and events team to identify appropriate branded promotional items and maintain appropriate levels of inventory
• Other special projects and support for marketing and business development initiatives as needed


Qualifications:

• College degree - Communications, or Marketing major preferred
• One to four years’ experience in marketing or communications; Prior experience in a professional services organization is a plus.
• Excellent judgment; asks the right questions
• Expert level in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Able to communicate clearly verbally and in-writing
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once, prioritizing among competing tasks
• Adaptable, flexible, and tenacious at achieving goals
• Takes initiative and owns tasks assigned
• Exhibits professional maturity; composed under pressure
• Ability to execute flawlessly; strong attention to detail
• Computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office applications
• Basic graphic design skills; comfortable using In-Design (a plus, not required)
