Our client, a leading retail fashion company, is looking for a Junior eCommerce Quality Assurance Specialist to join their in-house 8 person Web Production Team onsite at their office in Hudson County (not easily commutable by public transportation - the train isn't walkable from their office).

This role doesn't require extensive experience but attention to detail and a great understanding of technology and "how things work" is necessary for success.

eCommerce experience is preferred; their site is high traffic.

There is a separate more technical QA person on the IT side so this role is all about making sure the products are good to go live on the web and taking the copy and creative and making sure it can be signed off on, ensuring that the front end looks right. There's no reading through code.

They use Excel and Google Docs a lot to collaborate between teams (no major formulas) but general working knowledge is needed; the Jr. eComm QA Specialist will work on a MAC but be checking content on multiple devices and browsers.

This isn't a robotic QA role - they don't test at that level; their IT team does. The right candidate is someone who can think of the test cases for IT to run (i.e. what happens when a customer goes to check out from Instagram etc. and run through all variables and list them out for IT to test and how to identify issues so IT can fix and QA the bug) - have a mindset of the customer.

Junior eCommerce QA Specialist Requirements:
• 1 year+ of hands-on eComm QA experience
• 1 year of business-side end user testing
• 1 year with a web CMS (content management system, they use WebLinc but experience with any CMS will suffice)
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
• Methodical approach in executing daily activities and responsibilities
• Proficient in documenting issues clearly and concisely so they can be replicated

Junior eCommerce QA Specialist Responsibilities:
• Primarily own and manage the process of approving product detail pages to ensure they have everything needed to activate on the website (including: Images, swatches, copy, and inventory)
• Work closely with merchandising, copy, photo, and IT teams to see through product activation from post-production to activation on the website, including some troubleshooting and reaching out for new images or correcting file names so they show up correctly online etc.
• Assist with ongoing QA and user acceptance testing on staging and production websites and clearly report findings
• Possess the ability to create and manipulate data in the CMS for testing (they use WebLinc)
• Be part of a team of people who are QAing future development of the eCommerce website and software
• Independently execute manual tests and scenarios and then record defects and verify fixes
