About Our Client:
Our client is a slightly to moderately conservative news and opinion website geared toward millennials. They aim to write factual news content with minimal bias and are rapidly growing.

About the Position:
They are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Chief Creative and Content Officer who can thrive on developing strategies and brand opportunities for a national news website. This role will have 4 direct reports (but will manage a department of about 75) and will report into both the Chief Revenue Officer and the Senior Vice President of News for their parent company.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop content strategy and brand for a national website
• Develop short and long term creative goals and strategies
• Attract and hire excellent storytellers and be proactive in recruiting for open and future positions
• Define day-to-day expectations of website staff
• Define audience metrics to be tracked nationally
• Ensure content produced is compelling and engaging
• Deliver sharable daily content for integration in a variety of distribution channels
• Develop and manage a department budget


Skills, Requirements and Personal Attributes:
• At least 10 years of experience in online news media
• Background in TV / Digital News or Newspaper
• BA or BS degree required
• Must be a dynamic and visionary leader with the ability to command a room and clearly define their mission and goals
• Must be able to attract, hire, and retain top talent for the team.
• Ability to work with the national sales team to drive revenue initiatives and sponsorship integration.
• A background that features a variety of content from video to sponsorship integration. The proven ability to create compelling content that leads to engagement.

Other things to note:
**This position is based outside of Washington DC and they are willing to pay for relocation for the right candidate.

**This role will require frequent travel to both their Los Angeles and New York bureaus (roughly 40%).
