Our social media giant client seeks a Product & Media Relations Planner to join their team in this 12 month freelance role!

This role will be 100% remote, but you must be based in the following approved location(s):
Bay Area, CA
Baltimore, MD
Boston, MA
Houston, TX
Los Angeles, CA
San Diego, CA

The Product & Media Relations Planner will be responsible for the following:
- Work with Product Comms team to support product priorities: media strategy and execution for product updates and launches
- Represent comms on cross-functional working teams, providing comms input for go-to-market plans, strategy, and tactics
- Collaborate with product, marketing and partnerships teams to create and execute go-to-market plans
- Write and create comms plan and strategy
- Identify opportunities to tell proactive product stories and holistic moments outside of launches/tests
- Manage media training for executives, product spokespeople and ad-hoc outreach to creators for press opps
- Work with global teams to manage launch calendar and advise on regional strategy
- Build and manage deep relationships with consumer/tech reporters, beat reporters, and new media outlets that reach priority audiences and drive coverage
- Partner with consumer comms team on media relations through proactive press strategies and storytelling around gen Z trends, diverse creators, music, and more

The ideal Product & Media Relations Planner should possess the following:
- 4+ years experience in PR, journalism, social media, or relevant field
- You understand the tech media landscape, and can build + maintain relationships with key press
- You aspire to find new, exciting ways to tell product stories with a consumer and creator lens in next-gen publications and social mediums
- Experience working with consumer product to drive media coverage and campaigns
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Strong writer with experience writing press statements, blogs, narratives and social copy
- Analytical problem-solver who can think quick on your feet to find solutions
