Our social media giant client seeks a Learning Events Manager to join their team in this 12 month freelance role!

This role will require you to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and onsite in San Francisco.

The Learning Events Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Work with Learning Leaders & Events Team to design event strategies and develop & implement corresponding event plans, including: budget management, content strategy, brand & creative design, production, talent management, learning experience design & development, staffing and logistics coordination
- Strategize virtual and in-person activations that bring our large-scale learning experiences to life and foster a stronger sense of belonging and inclusion company-wide.
- Develop and manage dynamic project plans across multiple workstreams while applying a systems-thinking approach to successfully deliver high quality, live global learning experiences for 1000+ (up to 20000) participants across the L&D Event portfolio
- Identify & manage resources and work closely with the team to maintain full visibility of multiple projects, ensuring resource gaps are addressed efficiently.
- Develop and execute measurement strategies to assess efficacy of programs including standardized reporting to deliver insights to partners and advise on program improvements
- Manage relationships with Legal, Sourcing, Finance, Security, Facilities, Catering and Event Operations teams to align on ongoing event needs
- Communicate and liaise effectively (written, verbal, and presentation skills) with key stakeholders, cross-functional partners, and vendors including developing communication plans, go-to-market plans, change management strategies and responding to business needs
- Influence & drive alignment across a wide stakeholder base - including senior leaders, peers, technical, and non-technical stakeholders across roles & orgs
- Communicate feedback, challenges, roadblocks, insights effectively and concisely to appropriate audiences and stakeholders
- Engage with partners and cross-functional teams to identify constraints, dependencies, and coordination areas, to deliver high-quality large-scale learning experiences
- Manage evolving priorities and drive through ambiguity while being dynamic and flexible to business needs and/or shifts in event direction
- Drive technical excellence across the team and partners, coordinating and contributing to project management practices, team road maps, workflow development, launch criteria, and overseeing test plans
- Ensure progress on priority work-streams, help build decision-making frameworks, program deliverables, RACIs, etc., including support for cross-functional relationship management
- Create bold experiential concepts based on program format and budget

The ideal Learning Events Manager should possess the following:
- 6+ years program or project management (or equivalent experience)
- Understanding of the key drivers of successful event execution in digital, physical, and hybrid mediums including broadcast experience
- Experience managing a variety of event formats, from exclusive closed-door executive events to large-scale conferences
- Demonstrated experience concepting and developing complex, large-scale or enterprise-wide events - delivering on time and within budget
- Demonstrated experience leading and overseeing an events planning team
- Ability to build relationships, trust and foster collaboration across various levels of the organization in a highly cross-functional, global team environment
- Experience leading across a wide stakeholder base to architect, design, deliver, optimize, and measure large-scale events or enterprise initiatives
- Track record of exercising independent judgment and discretion while utilizing company policies and practices to determine appropriate action when working with escalations or identifying risks
- Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines, while managing several programs simultaneously
- Ability to assess and prioritize workload in a strict deadline oriented environment
- Thrive on teamwork and creatively overcoming obstacles
- Desire to consistently innovate and enhance programs, bringing new ideas to the table
- Experience managing agencies and vendors

Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in the meeting/event industry
- Experience using the latest event technologies, including streaming platforms (e.g. Hopin), registration and participant management platforms, agenda management tools, event promotion tools, project and resource management tools, and tools for live event engagement (polls, Q&As, etc.).
- Experience working in a large, fast-moving technology company, working in a global, matrixed setting
- Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
- Expertise across Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, manager and leader development program design, content & development
- Extensive experience working with production partners in a creative capacity
- Experience producing immersive media/VR content creation
