Design Strategist - Fully Remote/Off-site

Our agency client is looking for brand strategists to join their team. They have available roles for the following two positions:

1. Freelance Strategy Director. This is a 6 month 40 hour/week role that is fully remote.

The Strategy Director will be responsible for:
- Demonstrating deep understanding of the client’s business, competitive landscape, consumer insights and trends to synthesize and translate them into informed and thoughtful strategies
- Working with the Strategy team as well as Account, Design (2D and 3D), and Engineering teams to develop and refine compelling strategies and ideas for brand building and brand touch-points (expression, packaging, communication, etc.)
- Planning and leading in work sessions to define and build strategic and creative directions
- Analyzing and synthesizing research findings to derive strategic, actionable insights
- Becoming an advocate for insights, with clients, leadership, and internal team, to ensure learning adds value throughout the process

The Strategy Director must have:
- 5-10 years of experience in brand/design strategy, particularly within packaging, innovation or creative brand building (experience in an agency setting a must)
- Understanding of brands and brand building; (experience with CPG, food/beverage/wine/spirits a plus)
- Experience with brand strategy and innovation tools like positioning frameworks, brand narratives & expression, inspirational design targets, strategic territories, concept statement
- Experience conducting category audits and competitive analysis to identify actionable insights and opportunities
- Solid conceptual thinking skills
- Fluency with Keynote/Mac OS, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience participating in qualitative consumer research efforts (generative and evaluative) to inform brand building

2. Full-time Strategist. This is a full-time direct-hire role that will be work from home until further notice.

The Strategist will be responsible for:
- Supporting in-house Strategy and Creative teams to develop strategies for tier-one CPG, food and bev and alcohol brands, extensions and new offerings
- Conducting research into trends, patterns and market developments, conducting brand audits and competitor research and analyzing consumer data to drive insights
- Developing strategies for all brand touch-points with a focus on packaging and in-store communication
- Acting as a champion of strategy for local clients, presenting insights in a compelling and effective way to internal creative teams and clients

The Strategist must have:
- 2+ years' experience in a brand or design strategy role with a focus on CPG, food and bev and/or alcohol brands
- Experience working at a design agency
- Strong passion for brands strategy, positioning and communication
- Expert knowledge in Mac OS/Keynote and Adobe Creative Suite
