A very reputable SF fashion retail giant seeking a Garment Developer to assist their team for a 9 month project in San Francisco!

The Garment Developer's Responsibilities:
- The purpose of this position is to see that the execution of design concepts, including the technical requirements, are delivered from the sketch/prototype stage through the "manufacture ready" package stage within established deadlines.
- Create technical specification packages and develop patterns/blocks for proto development within a given consumer group
- Keep abreast of contractor-related technical/equipment capabilities
- Ensure the adherence to quality and safety requirements for each product
- Attend and/or lead fit sessions while reviewing documents and providing input to improve fit, function and appearance
- Post fittings communicate all proto/sales/production comments to the production locations
- Evaluate samples to determine compliance of specs, construction and fit intent are met and aligned across product categories from development through production.
- Update and maintain block library ensuring fit accuracy, brand consistency and product quality across all categories.
- Strong knowledge of patternmaking, garment construction, fit and fabric performance.
- Understanding of grading principle.
- Create and maintain product specs, including advance constructions, in ai, PLM, or patternmaking software.
- Act as a liaison between Design and Product Management for quality product execution and bulk production problem solving

The Garment Developer's required skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (7+ years combined college education, pattern-making training and work experience may be substituted for a degree)
- Minimum 5 years experience focusing on the execution of design concepts
- Experience with manual or computer aided pattern-making and grading
- Drawing, flat sketching or Illustrator drawing experience
Proficiency with Word and Excel Additional Qualifications
Skilled in PLM
- Understanding and experience in CLO
- Design school degree a plus
- Experience in the apparel industry focused on product development with a variety of fabrics and product types such as tops and bottoms, denim, outerwear, woven and knits
- Experience in interpreting designers’ fit direction with the ability to interpret and direct corrections to contractor pattern work
- Strong technical communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to be flexible in a multi-task environment
- Strong sense of urgency to meet manufacturing deadlines
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
