Our eCommerce client in the home decor space is looking for a Design Manager to join their team full-time. This role is onsite in Tempe.

You will work closely with the VP Creative Director to ensure work is being prioritized based on current business objectives and maintains quality and brand standards. This position requires a high level of organization and attention to detail, a strong eye for design and excellent communication skills.

What you will be doing as a Design Manager:
• Responsible for the creation and maintenance of creative requests such as retouching product photography, designing promotional materials, email templates, etc.
• Assign and kick off all projects within the team that flow through the creative department while giving direction that aligns with strategic goals
• Responsible for the day-to-day priorities and direction of the team while managing own workload for marketing initiatives
• Present strategic thought behind creative decisions to partners across departments
• Ensures design solutions are customer focused, intuitive and flawlessly executed
• Leads and participates in brainstorming, idea generation and design research as needed
• Regularly shares creative inspiration with team to help guide the look and feel of the brand
• Ensure design toolkits are created, maintained and aligned with brand standards
• Collaborate with key partners to develop creative concepts/assignments, development and execution of
creative campaigns, adapting for devices as required; has the ability to lead or perform this function as part of a cross-channel team or independently as needed.
• Proactively takes ownership of tasks and drives projects through to completion
• Keep VP Creative Director informed regularly of project status
• Manage multiple projects, deadlines and deliverables
• Develop design team by providing feedback, coaching and mentoring on a consistent basis
• Foster team member development, effective and timely performance assessments and productive workflow processes
• Identify design talent, helping recruit and set a compelling vision that energizes and focuses the team
• Problem solve and generate new ideas in a fast-paced environment

What you need to know as a Design Manager:
• 7+ years in creative environment, agency experience preferred
• 3+ years leading creative teams
• Current portfolio showcasing elevated design
• Detail-oriented, and organized; able to prioritize, multitask, and deliver on strict deadlines
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Knowledge/Interest in fashion/home décor is a plus
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
• Knowledge of Google Analytics or other usability analysis tools highly preferred
