Director of Technical & Creative Services - WFH during Covid-19

Our client a higher education client, is looking for a Director of Creative Services to join through the end of the year with the intention to transitioning to fulltime in 2022.

This will start off as a remote, 40/hrs a week opportunity.

We are looking for a person who can balance the supervision of the creative & production work streams, while handling the technical aspects of the role. A successful candidate demonstrates a genuine reverence for creativity, technology, and production.

Director of Creative Services Overview:
- Oversee the servicing, staffing, people management, and delivery aspects of the creative service team
- Lead the production of all marketing programs
- Supervise freelance art directors, web designers, internal web team, production designers, project managers
- Work closely with brand copywriters and communicators
- Provide day-to-day management of a team of freelance art directors, web designers, production designers, proofreaders, and project managers.
- Assign projects to designers, managing timelines, expectations, budget, and printing specifications
- Track and manage vendor services: printing, imprinting, photographic, graphic design, multimedia, web and mail
- Facilitate and coordinates materials and resources

Director of Creative Services Areas of Focus:
- Drive workflow and schedules for marketing programs based upon volume, deadlines, and priorities
- Prioritize work for creative & production teams, establish overall timelines and milestones to meet deadlines
- Provide leadership having a strong understanding of the processes involved in managing/delivering projects such as: print, digital, email, video, events, social, & landing pages
- Evaluate, identify, and implement existing and new processes to drive efficiency in project management and information workflow
- Evaluate and troubleshoot tech systems in relation to digital ecosystem
- Oversight and management of vendor related project, printers, and logistics
- Identify, onboard, and retain talent required to deliver on brand and messaging
- Define the level of effort for projects (creative, design, production, deliverables, schedule, while maintaining the brand tone & voice) in partnership with the Marketing Team.
- Guide and advise the creative services team to act as the “brand ambassadors” for each of the brands

Director of Creative Services Project Communication:
- Lead project management for Creative Services & Marketing teams
- Assign both creative & executional work
- Ensure brand projects / campaigns are on time, within scope, while maintaining each of the sub brands tone & voice
- Communicate regularly about project progress, status, scope, risks and opportunities to team/stakeholders
- Conduct project meetings, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and postmortems across all brand work

Director of Creative Services Teamwork & Communication:
- Work in partnership with the Marketing, Admissions, and Business Development teams
- Communicate ideas to improve efficiency, performance, and standards of the Creative Services department
- Be open-minded to new ideas
- Participate in giving / receiving constructive feedback, including formal performance review process

This Director of Creative Services needs:
- BA or BFA in marketing/advertising, graphic design, multimedia, or related
- 7-10 years supervisory experience delivering tactical marketing projects, and programs
- Ability to guide projects from creative & production perspective across print, digital, video, email, events, social, & landing pages meeting deadlines while raising the quality of the final deliverables
- Experience successfully managing a Creative Services team, motivating while influencing others through leadership
- Strategic problem solver managing details of project management, people, timeline, and scope
- Thorough with details, followup, and suited to owning a collaborative role
- Meets all opportunities with proactive solutions AND positive approach.
- Prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects deadlines simultaneously
- Strong understanding of web, email, event, publication design and production processes
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), and emerging technologies.
- Working understanding of the marketing landscape technologies: Salesforce, Marketo and digital web platforms.
- Experience in higher education or agency environments
