Our client is a real estate investment manager that specializes in operating mixed-use multifamily and retail properties in the San Francisco Bay Area.

They are seeking a highly diligent, confident Corporate Communications Director with substantial strategic management experience.

**Although this is a full-time role, there's flexibility for consulting or temp-to-perm, for the right candidate**

The Director will be accountable for the public perception of the company, and responsible for developing positive and engaging marketing and communication strategies, understanding the importance of timing and setting for communication activities, responding to crises and setbacks, capitalizing on positive marketing opportunities, ensuring that information released is consistent and strategic manner, and serving as the public spokesperson of the company, in coordination with external PR and community consultants.

Main Responsibilities:
- Developing a cohesive external communications strategy including but not limited to articles, blogs, publications, press releases, audio and video interviews, public responses, and social media
- Spearheading public relations crisis management and preemptive planning
- Cultivating an environment of readiness and alertness amongst the Executives, Marketing Team and Operations to respond quickly and proactively to breaking news and events as they unfold
- Spearheading and furthering implementing a ?Residents First? customer-care platform, in collaboration with Property Management
- Maintaining an awareness of company risks and threats as they arise
- Projecting a positive company image to the public in all mediums and settings
- Managing media relations, public relations and political relations directly or via consultants
- Managing communications budget
- Ensuring quality control of all information released through all channels

Qualifications:
- MBA or advanced degree in Communications, Marketing or related field preferred
- 10+ years communications experience.
- Extensive list of local and national media contacts
- Experience in stakeholder/community engagement
- Strong and confident leadership.
- Plus: Knowledge of San Francisco real estate market and tenant laws
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent collaboration skills
- Excellent public speaking abilities
- Excellent leadership skills
- Awareness of and proficiency with the depth and breadth of current communications technologies
