Technical Writer (BioTech, AeroSpace or Pharma) - WFH during Covid-19

We are looking for an experience biotechnology focused Technical Writer for a 3+ month contract, 40 hours per week. Candidates should be local to Seattle and able to be onsite 3 days per week. Domestic travel will happen once or twice during the assignment as well. This project will focus on biotechnology documentation in a clinical setting.

Write, edit, and maintain technical documentation to instruct a broad set of internal stakeholders (e.g., engineers, lab associates and scientists, maintenance technicians) in policies and procedures for lab operations and device maintenance
Write, edit, and maintain business operations documents Manage and maintain organizational knowledge and help pages
Write and edit UI/UX copy for human-machine interfaces and other IT systems in lab operations
Revise and rewrite technical documentation to be accurate and concise
Partner with engineers and lab associates and scientists to implement process improvements in lab technical documentation
Assist in managing document approvals and release through document management system
Communicate with engineers, scientists, product managers, other writers, and relevant stakeholders to create, develop, and understand technical content

Bachelor’s or Master's degree in writing, journalism, English, communications, engineering, biology, chemistry or another relevant field
3-5 years of experience in technical writing in one or more of the following industries: medical devices; pharmaceutical; clinical laboratory; biotechnology; software development; aerospace or automotive manufacturing
3-5 years of experience converting and translating technical instructions and information into content intended for a variety of audiences and levels

Experience writing clinician/physician and/or patient manuals or other technical documentation in a regulated industry
Familiarity with HTML and CSS; exposure to basic coding is a plus
Familiarity with DITA or other XML-based structured content authoring systems
Familiarity with single-source publishing software and component content management systems
Familiarity with quality management systems and quality manual documents
Strong analytical, project management, computer, communication, and writing skills (typing, spelling, grammar)
Ability to creatively overhaul and re-design any project or workflow to optimize comprehension, while meeting requirements
Ability to work under deadlines and to deliver in the midst of changes in project direction
