Our client, an international consumer goods company located in Southern New Hampshire, is looking for a freelance Internal Comms Manager to help their team - starting immediately!

As the Internal Comms Manager you will further develop, lead and implement the internal communication strategy and in-year plan (mainly pertaining to COVID-19) through strategy, advisory efforts and tactical execution.

Responsibilities Include:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership on the ongoing development of the internal communications strategy.
- Attend Management Team meetings to ensure the alignment of in-month key messages and the subsequent cascade of them throughout our respective channels.
- Translate strategic activity into messages and activities that are relevant at a departmental and individual level through the most relevant communications channel and approach.
- Continue to evolve the communication channels to most effectively deliver messages to different audiences.
- To advise and support the CEO and leadership team on their individual and collective leadership communications.
- Draft messages or scripts from leadership team, where appropriate, for presentation to employees in written or spoken form.
- Support new projects by providing specific and timely information to enable the business to engage stakeholders and bring about change in an effective manner.
- Provide clear and effective communication in response to crisis or emergency situations to reassure and guide employees.
- Take a business partnering approach to advise on best-practice employee communications to support business objectives and drive organizational performance.
- Continually measure the effectiveness of communication channels to assess whether they are meeting the needs of the company
- Support the employee engagement survey process annually by creating an implementation approach, create supporting materials and any communications content necessary to support a high uptake of the survey.
- Work with the Leadership Team to run and manage the Town Halls, working with teams to bring strategic content, aligned to the strategy to life through accessible messaging
- Ensure appropriate governance for all internal communications – define guidelines so that others can create consistent messaging throughout the business.

The IDEAL Internal Comms Manager will have:
- 8+ years of experience
- Proven ability to influence all levels of the business, with confidence to challenge and influence senior leaders accordingly
- Ability to bring best practice and insights from other organizations to help build effective and sustainable communication solutions
- Ability to organize multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing competing workloads to meet deadlines
- Excellent content writing and proofreading skills, with a friendly and informal tone of voice and able to come up with new, creative and bright ideas and different ways of doing things
- Flexibility in working pattern to work to peaks and troughs in the workload – planning time carefully and being available throughout the week for crisis management situations
- Be performance driven, tenacious and goal orientated
- Be able to work cross functionally both internally and externally
- Demonstrate strong leadership qualities – able to enlist, energize and develop others
- Be an innovative problem solver and a facilitator of change

This is a 40hr/wk opportunity for 2+ months, with possibility of extension. Hybrid schedule!
