Our client, a sports nutrition company, is looking for a full-time hands on Creative Director (graphic design) to join and lead their in-house team, hybrid, onsite a couple of days a week in New Jersey.

The CD will oversee the team as they manage the workflow of creative projects, the majority of which are digital (roughly 5% print / traditional, magazine ads etc.) since content / creative is huge for them since they're in the fitness industry. The CD will work with the Chief Brand Officer to develop creative strategies that align with the brand strategy and help the story as they evolve and drive change and growth in their space.

They have 3 main brands but the focus right now is on 2 of them, doing a lot of visual storytelling: social media, their websites, digital marketing ads etc.

Top 3 Creative Director Qualifications:
1. A portfolio of work that shows multiple projects managed at once
2. Agency design experience strongly preferred
3. A keen eye for creative, ideally from fitness or health (not required)

Creative Director Duties
Build, lead, and review work of the creative team in the production of all marketing collateral and content development, both internally and externally and for all marketing and sales channels
Lead and manage content strategy for all projects, incorporating brand strategy, digital initiatives, compelling content and brand design
Collaborate with the brand, digital marketing and sales teams in supporting the development of marketing plans, reviewing results, and identifying opportunities
Supervise a team of graphic designers, photographer/videographer, and freelancers in the strategic development of messages and deliverables
Prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short- and long-term needs, establishing production schedules and sharing with leadership team
Conduct brainstorming sessions with creative team, maintaining strategic and creative thinking to develop fiscally responsible innovative and actionable creative initiatives
Review and approve art and copy developed by the team, ensuring deliverables that effectively address marketing goals, challenges and opportunities
Produce fresh, innovative work that translates ideas into compelling on brand experiences for the fitness focused consumer
Present, or oversee presentation and coordination of final concepts, and obtain approvals for deliverables
Ensure visual communication and brand standards are met

Creative Director Requirements
10+ years of related experience with 5+ years of creative direction in agency or corporate setting
Experience creating marketing/advertising campaigns from developing vision and the message platform to overseeing production, on time and budget
Understanding and experience creating integrated content across all marketing channels from digital, social media, paid media, mobile, but also understand offline and print
Highly skilled with leading a team of creative talent (hands on when needed but also utilizing freelancers as needed)
Strong creative vision with an understanding of business objectives
Prior experience with copywriting, design, or production
Prior project management experience, with a focus on creative direction
Passion and knowledge about the sports nutrition, fitness, health & wellness industry is a plus
