Our client, a well-known higher education institution, is looking for a full-time Director of Communications to join their team!

*This role will be a hybrid of onsite / offsite - client requires 3 days onsite and 2 days offsite!*

The Director of Communications will:
-work closely with marketing / communications teams worldwide, manage the day-to-day communication needs of the organization / build and maintain strong relationships
-act as a high level strategist and also support the hands-on execution of communications briefs, PR efforts, internal emails, etc. across the university
-support alumni team's efforts to engage graduates, and manage crisis communications / high-level media coverage
-manage + maintain organization's PR strategy for North America, and develop goals and deliverables (press releases, spokesperson selection / prep, FAQ pages, etc.)
-QA all communications, and manage direct reports as-needed

The Director of Communications has:
-5-7 years of experience in communications, PR, or journalism and specific background managing a team
-2+ years of experience in crisis management
-ability to be both strategic and hands-on (this is a writing role, and this person will be responsible for creating / drafting all high-level written communications)
-any background in higher education is a huge plus
-the ability to work onsite with the NY team 3 days per week, and remote 2 days
