Our professional membership association client in Alexandria, VA is looking for a Sr. Media Relations Specialist to join their team.

This position is REMOTE Mondays and ONSITE Tuesday through Friday.

Duties of the Sr. Media Relations Specialist:
- Collaborate across departments to advance the associations missions and media reach
- Pitch media outlets and respond to inquires by trade and national media
- Assist in the preparation of talking point for media interviews
- Prepare press releases and anticipate opportunities to obtain editorial placements
- Promote the associations news and values through social media team
- Assist in the promotion of conferences - coordinating media outreach/presence, press room logistics, etc
- Monitor press for media mentions and produce reports on media placements
- Edit and disturb twice-weekly media roundup newsletter

Requirements of the Sr. Media Relations Specialist:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, etc
- 5+ years of experience in media or public relations
- A strong relationship or rolodex of media contacts highly preferred
- Experience working in an agency environment highly preferred
- PR, media outreach, etc examples
