Our policy research client in Washington, DC is looking for a Publishing Project Director to join their team on a temporary to full-time contract. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Publishing and Production team.

You must have experience managing a team to be considered for the role. You will have experience managing production workflows, establishing production schedules, standards, budgets and quality control.

Duties of the Publishing Project Director:
- Oversee companywide document production system
- Coordinate project with staff across offices/departments to ensure deadlines are met
- Develop guidelines and standards for document preparation and production
- Develop workflows and assign production staff to specific taks
- Work closely with editorial and design staff to produce graphics and copy edit materials to produce visually appealing and error free proposals, reports, documents
- Develop and track requirements including project scope, design guidelines, and RFP/contract requirements
- Ensure documents adhere to corporate branding and quality standards
- Monitor budgets and time allocations for projects
- Communicate with sr. staff across all divisions on projects and resource needs
- Forecast work load and resource needs to involve outside vendors/resources as needed
- Identify opportunities to train and share best practices
- Ensure tracking logs, file structure and all documents are properly archived by staff

Requirements of the Publishing Project Director:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- 5+ year of experience leading and managing a team - ideally across multiple offices
- 10 years of experience managing creative or document production
- Expert knowledge of print and graphics production
- Experience working on federal government or responding to RFP's a plus
- Advance knowledge of MS Office and Adobe CC
- Experience responding to client proposals including federal requests
