Our nonprofit client is looking for a Director of Media Relations to work remote until onsite work in their Washington DC office resumes.

Candidates MUST provide details/responses on your qualifications as it pertains to this list of required skills:
- Experience developing a media strategy, pitching and securing media coverage
- Experience speaking and writing on advocacy and policy issues pertaining to racial wealth divide, economic issues, and other similar topics
- Experience writing and editing copy for press releases, speaking and other media opportunities.(Please include writing samples)

Director of Media Relations Responsibilities:
- Craft, direct and implement a highly responsive and proactive annual media relations strategy
- Manage the development and writing of press releases, blogs, statements, messaging, talking points, pitches, blogs, and opinion pieces.
- Garner high-quality media coverage that raises brand awareness to support overall communications strategy and reaches target audiences.
- Manage proactive and reactive media opportunities to secure quality coverage and ensure messaging aligns with communications goals and objectives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media to strengthen organization positioning as a trusted resource.
- Participate in the development of team strategic plans, goals, and objectives, ensuring alignment with those of the organization.

Director of Media Relations Requirements:
- 6+ years of experience in media relations or communications, developing strong media relations strategies.
- Experience managing campaigns related to racial wealth equity, community development or poverty alleviation required.
- Strong writing and communications skills ; samples of press releases, opinion articles, etc should be provided.
- Experience managing and mentoring teams.
