Our hospitality client is looking for an Interior Design Innovation Specialist for an ongoing 40/hr a week freelance opportunity!

As a Interior Design Innovation Specialist, you will be responsible for using a design-thinking approach to discover and validate experiences, environments and tools related to our innovation projects. You will work closely with cross functional teams to successfully go from early stage product concepts to launching in the field.

The Interior Design Innovation Specialist must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and agile team environment. The ideal candidate for this position will be at ease visualizing in the abstract and then being able to drive that vision into solid design deliverables and while having fun in the process.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicates design strategies (i.e. schedules, modifications, updates) to consultants, contractors and
vendors to meet all established deadlines
- Partners with Project Manager to create, communicate and maintain project schedules
- Utilize knowledge of building codes and standards to provide guidance on technical issues, and ensuring
accuracy of documents and design solutions that get installed in the field
- Provides design support for vendors and contractors during installation
- Assists with vendor coordination during design development / prototyping
- Develop site specific drawings for multiple design solutions
- Assist in the development of visual brand strategies for multiple programs within the Restaurant Design
Portfolio
- Communicate design details / direction to multiple agencies, as well as internal team
- Participates in test site visits to validate design solutions
- Develop Design Guidelines for multiple project initiatives
- Apply existing visual brand guidelines across all design solutions
- Analyze project risks and recommend improvements
Design Coordinator Requirements and Qualifications
- Previous experience in managing outside contractors, vendors, and other design consultants.
- Experience designing customer facing products / environments
- Strong practical knowledge of user-centered design methodologies and the design thinking process
- Experience in chain-wide rollout work
- Knowledge of architectural details and specifications for review and management of construction
document production
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Critical attention to detail
- Strength in time management and ability to deliver results in a timely manner
- Self-starter who takes initiative to elevate the level of deliverables
- Strong interpersonal skills and high level of comfort

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in design or related field.
- 3+ years of experience
- Superior computer skills; well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite, InDesign, CAD, Revit
- Able to work effectively under pressure and produce quality work with strict deadlines
- Flexible and able to multitask on several different aspects of a project(s) at once within a portfolio of
work
