Our professional service focused association client in Washington, DC is looking for a PR Manager to join their team on a temp to perm contract. This position is 37.5 hours a week and onsite 2-3 days a week.

You must have experience pitching media outlets and writing press releases to be considered for this role. You must have writing samples to be considered.

Duties of the PR Manager:
- Pitch various media outlets to ensure placement of content, thought leadership, opinions, etc
- Write new releases, media advisories, online content, etc
- Field media inquires - work with subject matter experts to create responses and arrange interviews and speaking engagements
- Create and update media lists and distribute new releases
- Track media coverage mentions and produce reports
- Build relationship across the organization and local chapters
- Ensure news coverage of major conferences, legislative meetings, etc
- Assist in the development of the communication strategy and messaging

Requirements of the PR Manager:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, etc
- 4+ years of PR or media relations experience
- Experience proactively pitching and placing stories in national and local media outlets
- Experience wiring news releases, media advisories, talking points, Op-Eds, etc
- Experience working directly with subject matter experts
