Our client, a leading global financial services firm, is looking for an experienced Technical Marketing Communications Manager, who is familiar with the software development lifecycle, to join their team for a 6 month remote project (East Coast hours).

A general familiarity with technical concepts is required because this team is supporting a massive app migration.

You have enough of a technical background if you know what private cloud vs. public cloud is, what a deployment is, etc. – experience working with software and an understanding of a software development lifecycle is imperative for success.

Technical Marketing Communications Manager Overview
• In North America alone there’s over 2,000 apps that are migrating in plus then from data centers in Asia and Europe
• The applications are being asked to meet certain criteria as they’re getting ready to migrate and it's a big program that reaches a lot of people so this broadcast messaging is important
• It’s a lot of collaboration with multiple teams but no management of direct reports
• Set up a communications plan, help them market success stories and lessons learned

Technical Marketing Communications Manager Responsibilities
• Create and execute a global marketing plan for program awareness (e.g, to include monthly email, chat posts, ad hoc articles and recordings for intranet)
• Create and execute a global marketing plan for global outreach events; assist with logistics and materials development (presentations, marketing emails/blurbs)
• Content development e.g., online help, user guides, position papers, frequently asked questions, PowerPoint Presentations, email communications (day to day it’s likely 40% writing vs. 60% tracking and identifying learnings etc.)
• Articulate complex technology explanations and instructions in easy-to-understand language, appropriate for target audience, in various documentation types including, but not limited to, online help, user guides, position papers, frequently asked questions, PowerPoint Presentations, email communications
• Work collaboratively with technologists and subject matter experts across the organization to develop materials
• Assist with website maintenance, including editing /improving existing content for clarity and consistency
• Maintain a publishing workflow tracking revisions and getting required approvals; manage the backlog, prioritizing work based on team needs and shifting priorities

Technical Marketing Communications Manager Qualifications
• Proven success at developing and executing marketing plans in a corporate environment
• 9-10 years of technical writing experience for multiple audience types (technologists, business users, new users, etc.)
• Exceptional writing and editing skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with technologists and subject matter experts to gain a complete understanding of complex technology
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities on tight deadlines without compromising quality
• Organized and able to maintain a publishing workflow and pipeline
• Familiarity with basic technology concepts such as platform types (cloud), app types (mainframe, distributed apps), technology infrastructure (data centers, storage, networks), software capabilities (UI, resiliency, automation etc.)
• Familiarity with knowledge base concepts such as content types, content tags, views and filters
