Digital Designer with Video Editing Skills (Part Time) - WFH during Covid-19

Our client, a choice-driven content creation, publishing and e-commerce platform, is seeking a freelance Digital Designer with Video Editing Skills to support their team for ~3-6 months!

**Please note: This is a part time role estimated about 20 hours per month! This role is also remote for the time being and a laptop will be provided to you**

The Digital Designer with Video Editing Skills is responsible for:

- Creating delightful, dynamic, and on-brand assets for different teams, running the gamut from social media assets to landing page web design and UX/UI elements to pitch decks and digital ad units
- Using original concepts and designs to drive consumers to the client's "try & buy" products and make a purchase
- Designing and editing videos for both paid and organic marketing assets that showcase the unique interactivity and value proposition of each experience for the identified audience(s)
- Editing existing footage, cutting it into short form content and adding motion to it
- Creating videos that are cohesive, tell a story and draw the audience in
- Understanding and utilizing the brand's current guidelines, style guides, fonts, colors, etc. to inform your creative process
- Collaborating closely across teams, working with internal stakeholders and copywriters, and providing your expertise throughout ideation, iteration, and final delivery
- Designing the look and feel for new experiences and marketing materials
- Supporting the client in their efforts to reach future clients and end users as they focus on ecommerce capabilities and templates


The Digital Designer with Video Editing Skills ideal must:

- Have at least 3 years of design and video editing / motion graphics experience
- Have proven retail or e-commerce experience within the digital marketing, digital advertising or tech industry
- Previous startup experience is always a plus
- Be a digital-first designer, experienced with responsive web and UX design across different browsers and devices
- Experience with email design is a plus
- Be able to take disparate footage or assets and turn them into unified, cohesive, and beautiful designs or videos
- Have experience with motion graphics and animation
- Be proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite and Figma (or equivalent)
- Be proficient in Adobe Premiere and After Effects (or other video and motion graphics tools)
- Experience with Asana is a plus
- Be able to manage time skillfully: accurately tracking their own capacity, deftly navigating competing priorities, and managing stakeholder expectations
- Follow best practices for social media asset creation on different platforms
- Be a true creative and collaborator, full of ideas they want to pitch and test
- Stay up-to-date on emerging design technologies and platforms
- Easily absorb both explicit and implicit brand guidelines, and leverages their expertise to make the branding even better!
- Have excellent organization and communication skills
- Be able to work collaboratively across multiple teams
- Be comfortable working on tight deadlines with no hand holding
- Be willing to "roll with the punches" and be comfortable working with ambiguity
