User Experience Designer (Service Design) - WFH Flexible

Rate DOE, starting at $60/hour
Our client is seeking a User Experience Designer, known as the Service Designer, for a 40-hour/week, 12-month contract that will ideally extend and/or convert. This role starts remotely for now, however candidates local to NYC and NJ are preferred.

The UX / Service Designer will:
- Plan and conduct user research with customers
- Synthesize large bodies of research data to provide insights, identify opportunities, and generate conceptual frameworks
- Translate and bridge research to tangible design opportunities and outputs between UX and Service Design
- Facilitate co-creative sessions (e.g. user research, brainstorming, concepting) with key stakeholders
- Create tailored artifacts such as presentations, reports, visual maps, prototypes, storyboards, service blueprints, journey maps, personas, etc. for stakeholders

The UX / Service Designer must have:
- 3+ years of experience in service or digital product design, ideally including creating a service blueprint
- Understanding of business ecosystem maps, customer journeys, current state, target state, etc. and/or experience using research insights to inform design decisions
- Knowledge of physical infrastructure, team processes, CX, and digital products that are part of a complex ecosystem.
- Degree in interaction design or similar field
- Familiarity with research and qualitative research to support and understand what makes a good research plan

*This role is more focused on strategy, research, and process and does not involve "cranking out" wireframes or creating "pixel-perfect" screens.*
